We are a teaching practice and are extensively involved in the educational development of medical students, post-graduate students and international medical graduates (IMG).
All students may therefore be present, with your permission, during your consultation. Patient contact in the GP setting is an extremely important part of their education and is highly valued and appreciated by the students. However, if you prefer not to have any student in the room when you see the GP, this is your right and will not in any way affect your care and treatment.
You may ask if you want them not to be present and you may change your mind at any stage during the consultation. All students are bound by the same code of ethics and confidentiality as your GP.
IMGs are fully qualified doctors who are undergoing specialist training to become GPs.
During their training at the practice they are mentored by Dr A K M Fakhruzzaman Bhuiyan (Zaman).
